September Rant

Hello RML Managers!

A few Friday morning musings on the things that amuse, bemuse and confuse a man in the wonderful world of RML......The playoffs are just around the corner and there is plenty to talk about....I've taken some heat from more than a few people about dubbing the Mariners as "the best team in RML history" in my preseason predictions. Despite the fact that they look hard pressed to win the division, I stand by what I said. I have never seen so much talent in one dressing room. But (hindisght being 20/20) if I could have changed one thing I would have called them simply the "most talented team in RML history." The fact is they are not the best an because for all the talent on that team, they haven't had the heart during these past few years, folding both times down the stretch.......Texas on the other hand has opened my eyes. Sure they have had some MVP performances from the likes of Berkman and White, but this team is more than the sum of its parts......On a side note, I'm fully expecting a return e-mail from Tom O'Neill regarding a conversation we had in May (anytime you're ready, Tom).....The BoSox have had a feel-good story so far with the Burton trade and the first place performance, but that could all come unravelled in a three-game trip to Yankee Stadium. We've seen BoSox collapses before, will it happen again?........I have to say that no team has given a weaker World Series title defence than the Oakland Athletics. The honeymoon sure ended fast.....When the Marlins conducted a fire-sale in April, the Creature was saddened and disapointed. I have to say that I'm even more diapointed now, given their improbable rise into contention. Who knows what they could have done had they not dealt away Bryant Burton and Ramon Martinez......With the San Francisco and Montreal close to wrapping up their divisions, the Creature has to give the early edge to the Giants. Similar offences, but nobody contends with the Giants pitching staff......HEROES: TEXAS RANGERS- One of the most cohesive units ever assembled.......ZEROES #1: SEATTLE MARINERS- All the talent, none of the guts......ZEROES #2: San Francisco's SHAWN GREEN and JAVY LOPEZ- A couple of clubhouse cancers who complain too much for the Creature's liking. These two primmadonnas' attitudes are all that stands between the Giants and destiny

All whining should be directed to rmlbleachercreature@hotmail.com
