World Series: Texas (116-46) vs. San Francisco (109-53)

OFFENCE: Statistically this isn't even a contest, as the Rangers have scored over a hundred more runs than the Giants. In reality however, there is not much separating either team. Both have proven top of the order run scorers in Edgardo Alfonzo (TEX) and Julio Lugo (SF) to go with sluggers such as Lance Berkman (TEX) and Scott Rolen (SF). The Rangers certainly have a more explosive offence, but given the Giants' 44-18 outscoring of Montreal in the last four games of the N.L.C.S, San Francisco doesn't seem lacking in that category either. PITCHING: Both clubs are absolutely dynamite pitching-wise, making this one of the most talent-laden World Series in RML history. The Giants have a deep rotation led by Denny Neagle, who has shown a lot of veteran leadership this season. The Texas rotation is more top-heavy, but you can't get much better than Maddux and Hideki White. The Creature believes the Giants have the best rotation, but the Rangers have the best two pitchers, which should even things out in a long series. EVEN

MEN ON THE SPOT-
(Texas) HARVEY HAU 14-9 4.05 era
>>> Big offseason contract was criticized, but after decent season he needs to follow up when it counts

(San Francisco) SHAWN GREEN.273 17hr 58rbi
>>> An offseason signee who had a nightmarish season. After a strong NLCS, needs to keep up redemption efforts in the Series

OUTLOOK: Both teams are among the best in both hitting and pitching and have 225 wins between them, so there isn't much room for error. When things are this tight, the Creature looks for little things and that seems to be the differential here. The Giants certainly won't be able to take another three-game vacation against Texas and get away with it, but with all the momentum they have its hard to go against them. Furthermore, the Rangers looked very unimpressive in the ALCS against an inferior Red Sox squad. I never thought the day would come when I bet against a team with 116 wins, but here it is.
